Derek Phillips has worked for the Bryant Parks Department for over six years. He has lived in Bryant and served the community for more than a decade. Originally from Arkadelphia, Derek has worked in the recreation industry as well as the Hot Springs Boys and Girls Club.
He is involved in nearly every special event in Bryant for the last several years. Whether it be Fall Fest, Bryant Family Fest, Monster Madness at Mills, Taste of Bryant, Health Expo or any of the tournament througout the year, he volunteered his time and resources to ensure that it benefits the community and is successful.
… Derek serves his community every day without seeking recognition or merit. This is a direct reflection of his character and dedication to quality of life in his community. He is an inspiration to so many people in a town that thrives on positive role models like him.
(Editor’s note: It is poignant to type this blog as we have learned that Derek is leaving Bryant to return to his hometown of Arkadelphia for a job in the recreation industry there. We are proud for him, but sad to see him go!)
